Activate SSH on your account

    1. Login to our Members Area.

    2. Click ‘Enable’ next to ‘SSH Access’.


SSH Tunnel Manager

    1. Download the Free SSH Tunnel Manager.

    2. Copy SSH Tunnel Manager to your Applications folder and launch.

    3. Select Show in menu bar and click the ‘+’ sign.


    4. Fill in the following details:

    • Name: VPNReactor SSH
    • Login: ( Your VPNReactor Username )
    • Host: OR OR
    • Port: 22

    Then click ‘Options’.


    5. Then, configure as follows:

    • Check Handle authentication
    • Check Enable SOCKS4 proxy
    • Port: 1080
    • Crypt method: Select aes128-ct to enable encryption.

    When done click Options and close Preferences.


    6. Select ‘Start VPNReactor SSH’ from the SSH Tunnel Manager icon in your menu bar


    7. Default SSH authenticity message only shows on first connection. Click ‘Yes’.


    8. Enter your VPNReactor Password, then click ‘OK’.


    9. In the SSH Tunnels window, it should now show that you are now ‘Connected’.


    10. HOORAY! You now have an active SSH Tunnel running on localhost port 1080.

Now lets configure Firefox Web Browser to use this proxy …

Setup Firefox to use SSH tunnel

    1. Launch Firefox, go to ‘Preferences’ > ‘Advanced’ > ‘Network’ > ‘Connection’. Then configure ‘Internet’ > ‘Settings’ as follows:

    • SOCKS Host:
    • Port: 1080
    • Port: 1080
    • No Proxy for: localhost,

    When done, click ‘OK’.


    2. HOORAY! You are now connected and can enjoy being anonymous online. To verify that your VPN is working, you can visit and must show that YOUR IP ADDRESS IS SECURED.
